Abstract:
The present invention is a composition which contains a decursin or decursinol angelate as an active ingredient for preventing or treating diseases which are related to angiogenesis induced by a VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor). The decursin and decursinol angelate in the present invention can prevent and treat diseases which are related to VEGF-induced angiogenesis by blocking ERK (Extracellular Signal-Regulated Kinase )- and JNK (c-Jun N-terminal Kinase)-MARK (Mitogen-Activated- Protein Kinase)-activated signal transduction and suppressing MMP-2 (Matrix Metalloproteinase-2) activation through inhibition of VEGFR-2 (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor-2) phosphorylation.
