Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for producing fluorinated organic compounds that obtains fluorinated organic compounds, which could not be produced at a satisfactory yield by conventional methods for producing fluorinated organic compounds using a fluorinating reagent consisting only of IF5-pyridine-HF, at a high yield without using carbon tetrachloride, and a fluorinating reagent that makes this possible. The present invention provides a composition containing (1) IF5 and (2) an aprotic solvent (excluding carbon tetrachloride), wherein the content of the aprotic solvent is within the range 50 mass ppm to 20 mass%.
