Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, alleviating or treating hyperuricemia or hyperuricemia-associated metabolic disorders, containing eggshell membrane as an active ingredient. Eggshell membrane, which is the active ingredient of the present invention, has effects of reducing the amount of uric acid in the serum, increasing the amount of uric acid to be excreted into the urine, and reducing the amounts of BUN and creatinine in the serum. Therefore, the composition of the present invention can be used as a health functional food or medicine for preventing, alleviating or treating hyperuricemia or hyperuricemia-associated metabolic disorders.
