Abstract:
A composition for removing at least one sulfurized compound contained in asphalt, the sulfurized compound being selected from the group consisting of hydrogen sulfide and compounds containing an –SH group, the composition comprising an aldehyde and an amine represented by general formula (1), wherein the ratio between the molar amount of the formyl group contained in the aldehyde and the molar amount of the amine is in the range of from 1:4 to 1:0.4.
(In formula (1), W represents a C1-6 alkylene, C2-6 alkenylene, C7-20 aralkylene, or C6-12 arylene group and R1 and R2 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a C1-6 alkyl, C2-6 alkenyl, C7-20 aralkyl, or C6-12 aryl group, provided that any two of R1, R2, and W may have been bonded to each other to form a ring and that R1, R2, and W each may have been substituted by a hydroxy group or a C1-6 alkoxy group.)
