Abstract:

In producing a concrete composition by adding a thickening admixture to cement, water, and an aggregate and kneading them, use is made as the thickening admixture of an additive which comprises a first water-soluble low-molecular compound (A) and a second water-soluble low-molecular compound (B) and which is an additive selected among additives in which the combinations of the compounds (A) and (B) respectively are: a combination of a compound (A) selected among amphoteric surfactants and a compound (B) selected among anionic surfactants; a combination of a compound (A) selected among cationic surfactants and a compound (B) selected among anionic aromatic compounds; and a combination of a compound (A) selected among cationic surfactants and a compound (B) selected among boron compounds. Thus, a concrete composition can be obtained which is usable for, e.g., an extruded concrete lining material in the shield tunneling technique and is excellent not only in early strength but in water resistance.
