Abstract:
[Problem] There have been cases where when a polymer blend of NBR with an alkylene oxide polymer is used as the conductive elastic layer of a conductive member for electrophotography, expansion due to water absorption occurs to cause a shape change, resulting in image unevenness. There have also been cases where when the blending proportion of the alkylene oxide polymer is lowered in order to inhibit the shape change due to water absorption, image unevenness attributable to insufficient electrical conductivity results. [Solution] A conductive member for electrophotography which has a conductive elastic layer that comprises an NBR onto which a specific alkylene oxide oligomer has been grafted. Thus, not only high ionic conductivity is obtained, but also shape changes due to water absorption are diminished.
