Abstract:
A confocal microscope unit 1A according to an embodiment is provided with: a first sub unit 6a having a light source 10a, a pin hole plate 12a, and a photo detector 13a; a second sub unit 6b having a light source 10b, a pin hole plate 12b, and a photo detector 13b; a scan mirror 4 that scans a sample M with exciting light output from the first and second sub units 6a, 6b via a microscope optical system, and guides luminescent light that is generated from the sample M according to the exciting light and imaged by the microscope optical system toward the first and second sub units 6a, 6b; and a main housing 2 which is configured so as to be attachable to a connection port P1 and to which the scan mirror 4, the first sub unit 6a, and the second sub unit 6b are fixed, wherein the first sub unit 6a and the second sub unit 6b are disposed inside the main housing 2 so that the incident angles of the two exciting light beams toward the scan mirror 4 are misaligned by a predetermined angle θS.
