Abstract:
Disclosed is a secondary battery, which is provided with an electrolyte solution and a negative electrode that contains a negative electrode active material, and wherein the negative electrode active material contains silicon and the electrolyte solution contains a conjugated ester compound represented by general formula (1). This secondary battery has good high-temperature cycle characteristics and exhibits excellent cycle characteristics in a high temperature environment even in cases where a negative electrode active material containing silicon is used therein. (In the formula, each of R1 and R2 independently represents an unsubstituted alkyl group having 3-12 carbon atoms, a substituted alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic group or an alkyl- or aryl-oxyalkylene group.)
