Abstract:
The present invention provides: a conjugated fiber which can be used suitably as a crimped fiber that enables the production of an artificial leather having a highly dense feeling and a high quality level; a base body for an artificial leather, which is produced using the conjugated fiber; and an artificial leather. The conjugated fiber according to the present invention comprises a polyester-type easy-to-elute component and a difficult-to-elute component, wherein the polyester-type easy-to-elute component comprises a copolymerized polyester that is produced by copolymerizing 5 to 10 mol% of 5-(sulfoisophthalic acid sodium) and a polyalkylene glycol contained in the copolymerized polyester, and wherein the polyalkylene glycol is present in a cross section of the conjugated fiber in a steak-like form extending in a lengthwise direction of the fiber.
