Abstract:
The invention relates to a connection structure of desk used in office, school or academy, and in particular to the connection structure of desk having a protrusion part and a hollow part. Many desks are connected one another by the protrusion parts and the hollow part formed at both sides of an upper plate. Such connection structures maximize a space use of the office and the classroom, and improve the learning effect because of suitability for a debate class or a discussion class. Further, the structure can provide various changes for the environment of classroom.The said desk has the connection part consisting of a protrusion part and a hollow part, with the protrusion part being formed at one side of the upper plate and the hollow part being formed at the other side of the plate. Many desks may be connected according to the style of class.

CLAIMS
1. A connection structure of desk for connecting many desks, wherein the connection structure comprises a connection part consisting of a protrusion part at one side of an upper plate and a hollow part at the other side of the plate, the desk is connected with the other desks through the connection part.
2. The connection structure of desk according to claim 1, wherein the protrusion part is curved in a semicircular form.
3. The connection structure of desk according to claim 1, wherein the hollow part has a shape corresponding to that of the protrusion part.
Description:
CONNECTION STRUCTURE OF DESK FIELD OF THE INVENTION The invention relates to a connection structure of desk used in office, school or academy, and in particular to the connection structure of desk having a protrusion part and a hollow part. The desk may be connected with the other desks by the protrusion part and the hollow part formed at both sides of an upper plate. Such connection structures maximize a space use of the office and the classroom, and improve the study effect because of suitability for a debate class or a discussion class that students discuss or state in teams of several people, as well as a typical lecture class. Further, the structures can provide various changes for the environment of classroom.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Generally, as a class performed in school or academy etc. , there are a lecture class that a teacher explains the summary or main concept of subject units systematically; a debate class that the students for or against a particular subject verbally express their contrary views and thus they are aware of a educational effect to be achieved; and a discussion class that the members of a group together research through the group discussion and announce results.

Among these various forms of classes, to date, the type of our education has mainly been a lecture class that a teacher explains outlines or main concepts systematically.

Because a lecture class is one-way education that a teacher obviously

explains outlines or main concepts to students, it has an advantage that students can understand outlines or main concepts within short time and thus it may improve the educational effect in a short period. However, due to this grinding, students will have unified thoughts and can't think freely. As a result, students have a humdrum and unified thought, and the creative talents of students are lowered.

Further, the lecture class doesn't provide students with sufficient opportunities to debate or discuss, and the ability for students to debate and discuss becomes down. This is a major cause that prevents the culture of debate from coming to stay.

Also, the lecture class doesn't sufficiently give students an opportunity to express their opinions. Thus, students will have a lowered talent of expression, and, during expression and debate, be on the strain excessively. Also, they can't express their opinions to the other students exactly and confidently, and will speak ambiguously. This is a reason they loss the confidence. Recently, to overcome the problems of the lecture class described above, various styles of education (e. g. the combination of the lecture class with a discussion or a debate class) are being performed.

Desks play an important part of education conditions in educational place for new type of education. The desk comprises a couple of support members with standing up at regular gap, and a rectangular upper plate having a drawer at bottom. The upper plate is positioned on the support members, and the plate are connected with the members and fixed through fixing means.

In addition, the desk having a rectangular upper plate is often used in

office. But limited are the arrangements of the desks having a rectangular upper plate, when one alters the arrangement of the desks according to move of office or change of internal environment.

On the other hand, as a prior art, utility model No. 134501 describes the upper plate of the desk produced by forming a number of galvanized steel plates, adhering honeycomb to wood and covering them with a veneer board.

Utility model No. 228578 describes the upper plate structure of the desk to move the whole upper plate.

A typical desk has been developed with considering the quality or the assembly first. As stated above, when connecting the desks, the upper plate contacting with the other plates at both sides has a rectangle shape.

Consequently, the space use of the office is restricted, and it is very difficult to connect the desks during debate or discussion time. Even so, the space is formed in connection part between the desks and then people can't concentrate in the debate or the discussion. If the desks are arranged closely together to prevent the space from being generated in connection part between the desks, the connected desks occupy too spacious for debater and discusser to concentrate the debate or the discussion. Thus, an educational effect through the debate and the discussion may not be obtained.

Therefore, the conventional desks have disadvantages that one can make better use of the space in office, and deal with various styles of education such as the combination of the lecture class with the discussion or the debate class, and the like.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

To resolve the problem as described above, the present invention provides the connection structure of desk with a protrusion part formed at one side of the upper plate and a hollow part formed at the other side of the plate. Due to the protrusion part and the hollow part, desks are easily connected each other. The connection structure contributes to the space use of the office, and is suitable for a debate or a discussion class as well as a conventional lecture class. Thus, the structure improves the study effect, and provides the environment of classroom with various changes. In another aspect of the present invention, the connection structure of desks being easily connected each other is provided for performing the debate or discussion class as well as the typical lecture class, and using the space in office. Due to such a structure, the teachers may educate students through various types of classes. As a result, the educational effect may be improved, and the environment of classroom is changed.

In another aspect of the present invention, the connection structure of desks being easily connected each other is provided for giving the opportunities to perform various types of classes such as a lecture, a debate, a discussion, a dramatization, a conversation, an experimental study, a quiz and an Internet application. The structure may contribute to the improved ability of discussion and a debate, and the students will have confidence.

To achieve these aspects of present invention, the desk, which is used in educational places such as office, academy and school, may be connected with the other desks through the connection parts formed at both sides of the upper plate. The connection part for connecting the many desks consists of the protrusion part formed at one side of the plate and the hollow

part formed at the other side of the plate.

Because the connection structure allows the desks used in education places such as office and school to be connected easily, it is suitable to use in a debate and a discussion class as well as a conventional lecture class, and contributes to the space use of the office. Thus, it improves the study effect and provides the environment of classroom with various changes.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Referring to figures 1 and 2, the desk according to invention comprises a pair of support members 13a, 13b which are standing up and

positioned at constant gap, and, on the support members, an upper plate 11 having drawer part 12 at bottom and connection parts 15 at both sides. The upper plate is joined with the support members through fixing means.

The upper plate 11 may be made from wood or processed wood such as MDF, HDF or Particle Board, or may be prepared by injection molding synthetic resin materials to facilitate manufacturing. The connection part 15 for connecting the desks 10 each other, which is formed at both sides of upper plate 11, consists of a protrusion part 16 protruded at the one side and a hollow part 17 formed at the other side.

Also, the protrusion part 16 is curved in a semicircular form in order to facilitate connection between desks, the hollow part 17 being contacted with the protrusion 17 is formed in shape corresponding to that of the protrusion part 16. Preferably, the hollow part 17 has a diameter equal to or more than the diameter of semicircle of the protrusion part 16.

According to such a connection structure of desk of the invention, the desk having connection part 15 formed at both sides of the upper plate 11, i. e. protrusion part 16 at one side and hollow part 17 at the other side, may be used individually, but if it is necessary to change a class style due to a course characteristic or to progress a class smoothly, one connects the desks each other and uses, with the curved protrusion part 16 in the semicircular form being contacted with hollow part 17 formed at counterpart of another desk to be connected.

Thus, as shown in figure 3, the connected desks 10 may be maintained at 180 degree. Also, desks may be connected at different angles to adapt to various types of class such as a lecture, a debate, a discussion, a

dramatization, a conversation, an experimental study, a quiz and an Internet application. As a result, classroom environment is variously changed. On the other hand, figures 4a and 4b are top views of the connection structures of desks according to another embodiment of invention. The connection structure of desk shown in figure 4a is suitable for a lecture class, a most common study type. As shown, the protrusion part 16 curved in the semicircular form, which is formed at one side of the desk 10, is contacted with the hollow part 17, which is formed at the other side of another desk, at right angles to each other. The resulting structure has rectangular shape.

Owing to such a structure, teachers can explain summary or main concept of a subject unit obviously, and students can understand it within short time. Thus, it promotes the educational effect. In addition, on moving an office or changing an internal environment of office, one alters the arrangement of desks freely. Also, figure 5a is a top view of the connection structure of desk in accordance with another embodiment of invention. This structure is suitable for discussion class. As shown, the protrusion part 16 curved in the semicircular form, which is formed at one side of the desk 10, is contacted with hollow part 17, which is formed at the other side of another desk, in the horizontal direction to each other. On viewing at the top, two lines (upper line and lower line) are formed. At both sides of the desks 10 formed in two lines, desks 10 are further connected in the vertical direction to form many connected desks 10.

Based on this desk structure, it is possible to perform the discussion class that the members of a group together research through the group discussion and announce results. Thus, the discussion class to lead one result,

i. e. opinion agreement through discussion in which various opinions are expressed, is progressed favorably Also, figure 5b is a top view of the connection structure of desk in accordance with another embodiment of invention. This structure is suitable for a debate class. As shown, in addition to the connection of desks 10 applied to discussion class, many desks 10 are further connected in horizontal direction.

Therefore, the students for or against a particular subject verbally express their contrary views and thus they may be aware of a learning effect to be achieved. As a result, the students will have confidence in debate and statement due to debate class in which students express various views. Also, the debate class provides the students with opportunities to learn a sound debate habit through the lesson so that a healthful debate culture is established. Also, the desk may be connected with the other desks for using to participate in a class and express one's opinion, as shown in figure 6a.

Such a connection type of the desk may be used in special activities such as self-administration activity, application activity, development activity, event activity as well as classes performed in the classroom. According to the content of the special activities, the desks may be connected for expression by groups as shown in figure 6b or figure 6c.

As described above, the present invention provides the connection structure of desk with a protrusion part formed at one side of the upper plate and a hollow part formed at the other side of the plate. Due to the protrusion part and the hollow part, desks are easily connected each other. The connection structure is suitable for a debate or a discussion class as well as a conventional lecture class. Since the structure improves the study effect and

provides the environment of classroom or office with various changes, the desks are adequate for Open Education. Further, the connection structure desks contribute to the space use of the office.
