Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a connector and a connection adapter which make it possible to reliably fasten a portable information terminal and a peripheral device thereof and establish a communication path simultaneously. [Solution] A connector 32 connects a portable information terminal 12 and a reading device 14. The connector 32 is provided with a first connector 38 disposed on a back surface of the portable information terminal 12, and a second connector 44 provided in the reading device 14, the first connector 38 and the second connector 44 respectively having lock structures that are locked to each other by relatively sliding in the planar direction of the back surface of the portable information terminal 12, and terminals 50a-50d, 78a-78d that are electrically connected to each other at the time of the sliding.
