Abstract:

A connector simple in construction and having a fluid passage whose volume stays substantially unchanged before and after the connection of a pipe body. The connector comprises a connector main body having a connection port for connection to a pipe body, and a fluid passage, a valve disc, a support for supporting the valve disc for movement axially of the connector main body with respect to the latter, and an urging means isolated from a flow channel, the arrangement being such that movement of the valve disc causes the connection port to open/close and the flow channel to open/close without substantially varying the volume thereof.
