Abstract:
Provided are a contact lens which is provided with an edge part having a novel structure, and a novel method for manufacturing a contact lens, as a novel technical concept with which, for a contact lens having a non-circular outer peripheral edge in a front view, an edge part having a smooth surface in the circumferential direction can be formed with high precision.
A contact lense (10, 12) has an outer peripheral edge with a non-circular shape in the front view. An edge part (28) that connects a lens front surface (20) and a lens rear surface (22) at the outer peripheral part of the lens has a machined surface to which a flat shape has been given by a turning process around the center axis (31) of the lense.
