Abstract:

The present application discloses a container (300) provided with: a housing that includes a main part (312) that accommodates a developer and an auxiliary part (313) that protrudes from the main part (312) and is connected to a developing device (400); a transport mechanism (320) that transports the developer inside the main part (312) to the auxiliary part (313); and a detector (360) that detects the state of the developer. The main part (312) includes an opposing wall (316) disposed at the boundary (BL) with the auxiliary part (313) so as to oppose the flow of the developer toward the auxiliary part (313). The developer includes a flowing part that is transported to the auxiliary part (313) by the transport mechanism (320) and an adhering part that forms an adhering layer from the developer that adheres to the opposing wall (316). The detector (360) separately detects reductions in the flowing part and reductions in the adhering part.
