Abstract:

The invention relates to a container capable of hygienically and easily handling stick-shaped articles such as cotton swabs, toothpicks and golf tees. The container which receives stick-shaped articles (6) comprises a cylindrical body (1), a shutter portion (2), and a cap body (3). Provided on the side of the cylindrical body (1) are a take-out opening (10), through which a stick-shaped article (6) is taken out by gripping the middle portion of the stick-shaped article (6) with fingers (7), and a head passing hole (11), through which the head of the stick-shaped article (6) passes. Provided between the take-out opening and the head passing hole is a restriction (12) having a gap (12a) which has a width smaller than the thickness of the middle portion of the stick-shaped article. The shutter portion and the cap body are mounted on the cylindrical body in this order to be assembled into a unit, such that a rotating operation of the cap body causes the shutter portion covering the take-out opening, restriction and the head passing hole to rotate for opening and closing the take-out opening. With this arrangement, operation in taking out the stick-shaped article can be improved. In addition, it is possible to facilitate manufacture of the respective parts and easy assembly with less manhours, thereby attaining cost reduction.
