Abstract:
The present invention provides: a continuous casting slab in which season cracking does not occur while being cooled, even when the continuous casting slab has a low toughness; and a method for manufacturing the same. This continuous casting slab for high-strength steel is characterized in that: the average prior austenite grain size at the center of the continuously cast slab with respect to the width direction and 10 mm from the surface layer of the continuously cast slab is 0.5-2.0 mm inclusive; and the microstructure is such that the total area ratio of bainite and ferrite is 90% or more, and the area ratio of ferrite is 0% or 3% or more.
