Abstract:
A highly effective and economical filtration and separation apparatus which can discharge easily and continuously foreign matters with which the screen is clogged. This apparatus comprises a rotary shaft, rotated by a driving force, transversely fitted inside a container, a rotary screen comprising concentric screen discs fitted to the rotary shaft in layers at predetermined intervals, and first and second partition portions extending from the inner wall portion of the container toward the rotary screen. The end of the first partition wall portion is so formed as to be slidable with a small clearance from the rotary outer peripheral portion of the rotary screen, and the end of the second partition wall portion is so formed as to be slidable with a small clearance from the rotary outer peripheral portion of the rotary screen and at the same time has combtooth-like proteberances that can enter into the spaces between the screen discs with shape of the protuberances being such that the diameter thereof is reduced from the rotary outer peripheral portion of the rotary screen toward the center of rotation in such a manner as to be wound in the direction opposite to the rotating direction of the rotary screen and said protuberances are so formed to be slidable with a small clearance from the disc surfaces of said screen discs. Said apparatus further comprises, along the rotating direction of the rotary screen, a fluid inlet and a foreign-matters discharge outlet formed in a zone between said first partition portion and said second partition portion, and a fluid outlet formed in a zone between said second partition portion and said first partition portion.
