Abstract:
The invention relates to a continuously operating press for producing wood-based boards or plastic sheets, in particular fibreboard or particle board, comprising multiple press frames arranged one behind the other in the press longitudinal direction, through which heating plates (10, 16) supported in relation to the press frames run in the press longitudinal direction, wherein, to allow free longitudinal expansion or contraction of the heating plates (10, 16), the press frames are mounted between upper support struts and on lower supports (8) by means of sliding elements (17) separated from said lower supports by an expansion joint. According to the invention, in a press of this type, in order for the press frames to be able to follow the thermally induced change in length of heating plates (10, 16) guided therein, without the occurrence of malfunctions caused in this case by contamination, the sliding elements (17) are surrounded by a seal (21) which seals the expansion joint between the sliding elements (17) and the supports (8).
