Provided is a continuously variable transmission comprising; a first transmission mechanism which receives drive power input from a motor, converts the input to a continuously variable gear ratio, and outputs same; a second transmission mechanism that receives drive power input from the motor, converts the input to a continuously variable gear ratio and outputs same; and a planetary gear mechanism that receives input of the drive force output from the first transmission mechanism and the second transmission mechanism and outputs the combined drive forces to the output shaft. The planetary gear mechanism comprises: a rotatable sun gear; a planetary carrier that revolvably supports along the outer periphery of the sun gear the rotating shaft of a planetary gear that meshes with the outer periphery of the sun gear; and a rotatable ring gear that meshes with the outer periphery of the planetary gear. The output from the first transmission mechanism and the output from the second transmission mechanism are each input to two gears out of the sun gear, the planetary gear, and the ring gear, and the remaining gear is connected to the output shaft.
