Abstract:
An AT control unit (10) for an automatic transmission (3) monitors a detected value of the rotational speed of the automatic transmission (3) when a prescribed transmission level is selected, and determines that a releasing abnormality has occurred in one of fastened friction elements fastened at the selected transmission level when the detected value of the rotational speed deviates from a target value of the rotational speed at the selected transmission level. A detected hydraulic value of the fastened friction elements fastened at the selected transmission level is monitored upon determination of the releasing abnormality, and the determined friction element is identified as a releasing failure friction element when it is determined that the detected hydraulic value is lower than the normal hydraulic pressure. Upon identification of the releasing failure friction element, failsafe control for shifting to a retreat transmission level which does not use the releasing failure friction element is executed.
