Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a control device for electric vehicles and a control method for electric vehicles, that are capable of appropriately damping vibration. When controlling the torque generated by a motor that generates torque for braking/driving drive wheels via a deceleration mechanism and a drive shaft coupled thereto, this control device for electric vehicles controls torque generated by a motor, on the basis of a damping control torque command value that dampens a vibration component caused by vehicle resonance and on the basis of a rotational torque command value on the basis of the operation of an accelerator or brake by a driver. The control device for electric vehicles is also configured to reduce torque generated by the motor, when prescribed conditions are met.
