Abstract:
In order to enable reduced size while having functionality for boosting the voltage of a battery, the control device for an electric vehicle according to an embodiment of the present invention is provided with: a converter having a diode and a switching element for converting an alternating-current or direct-current voltage supplied from an input side to a direct-current voltage, a main electric motor being connected to an output side via an inverter; a battery for supplying a power source to the main electric motor, the battery being connected via the converter and a reactor; and a boost chopper circuit for boosting the voltage of the battery, the boost copper circuit being configured from the diode and the switching element of the converter.
