Abstract:
An electronic control unit separately executes basic injection control by which fuel is injected at an amount corresponding to the operating state of an internal combustion engine, and auxiliary injection control by which fuel is injected to detect the cetane number index value of fuel on the condition that an execution condition has been met. The electronic control unit stores, as a first index value (S1), a rotational fluctuation amount (ΣΔNE) obtained as the result of fuel injection implemented by the auxiliary injection control, and also executes the basic injection control on the basis of the stored first index value (S1). When a fuel tank is replenished with fuel (301: YES), the electronic control unit calculates and stores a second index value (VS) on the basis of the first index value (S1), a pre-replenishment storage amount (V1) and a fuel supply amount (V2) (S302), and also executes the basic injection control on the basis of the second index value (VS).
