Abstract:
This control device for an internal combustion engine (10) is provided with a turbosupercharger (22), an exhaust gas purification catalyst (38) disposed in an exhaust gas passage (16) on the downstream side from a turbine (22b), and an WGV (42) capable of opening and closing an exhaust gas bypass passage (40) that bypasses the turbine (22b). When catalyst warm-up is requested, catalyst warm-up control for opening the WGV (42) and retarding the ignition timing is executed. When the control sensitivity of a slot valve (30) to the intake air amount is high, the intake air amount is controlled using the slot valve (30) during the execution of the catalyst warm-up control. When the control sensitivity is low, the intake air amount is controlled using the WGV (42) during the execution of the catalyst warm-up control. When the opening of the WGV is controlled toward the closed side during the execution of the intake air amount control using the WGV (42), the amount of retard of the ignition timing is increased.
