Abstract:
This control device for internal combustion engine detects the flow rate of air sucked into the inside of an air intake passage, and estimates or detects the atmospheric pressure and temperature. The control device estimates the air intake passage average pressure and the air intake passage average temperature, which are found in the air intake passage in which a portion up to a throttle valve of the air intake passage is set as one region. Furthermore, the control device is configured to estimate the pressure and temperature distribution inside the air intake passage on the basis of: the estimated average pressure in the air intake passage and average temperature in the air intake passage; and an energy change model made formed from constituent elements provided to the air intake passage.
