Abstract:
A power generation system (100) comprises a rotating body (1), a power generator (3), a brake circuit (4), a brake device (7), and a control device (5). The control device (5) controls the brake circuit (4) and the brake device (7). The control device (5) performs control such that the brake device (7) starts brake operation once the rotation speed of the rotating body (1) exceeds a first threshold (L). Control is performed such that after the rotation speed of the rotating body (1) falls below the first threshold (L), if a switching condition determined on the basis of the rotation speed of the rotating body (1) and a torque generated in the rotating body (1) is established, the brake device (7) stops the brake operation and the brake circuit (4) is short-circuited.
