In this control device of a vehicle drive device, when the target gear is changed during execution of internal combustion engine starting control, a start time is appropriately determined for supplying hydraulic pressure to the engagement device for shifting which engages in order to form the target gear after said change. In this control device of a vehicle drive device, an engagement device for disconnecting, a rotating electrical machine and a transmission mechanism are provided in order in a power transmission path connecting the internal combustion engine and the vehicle wheels. This control device is further provided with a starting control unit (41) for performing internal combustion engine starting control, and a time determining unit (46) which, when the target gear is changed during execution of the internal combustion engine starting control, determines, on the basis of the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine (11), the starting time for supplying hydraulic pressure to a specific engagement device (CL2) which engages in order to form the target gear after said change.
