Abstract:
An applied voltage determining unit 510 performs in parallel a process of determining, on the basis of a motor rotor position detected by a position sensor having an output A, three-phase alternating current commands V1u* to V1w* of voltages to be applied to the motor by an inverter, and a process of determining, on the basis of a neutral point voltage VN of the motor, three-phase alternating current commands V2u* to V2w* of voltages to be applied to the motor by the inverter. A PWM modulating unit 507 outputs alternately to the inverter a PWM signal corresponding to the three-phase alternating current commands V1u* to V1w* and a PWM signal corresponding to the three-phase alternating current commands V2u* to V2w*. The control device compares the rotor position detected by the position sensor having the output A, and the rotor position estimated from the neutral point voltage VN of the motor, thereby determining whether the position sensor having the output A is malfunctioning.
