Abstract:
A control device for a vehicle is provided with a semiconductor switch, and by controlling the turning on and off of the semiconductor switch, opens and closes a connection between a capacitor connected to one end portion of the semiconductor switch, and a vehicle-mounted battery connected to the other end portion of the semiconductor switch. The control device is provided with: wiring for applying a drive voltage to the semiconductor switch to turn the semiconductor switch on; a drive switch for short circuiting the wiring to turn the semiconductor switch off; a Zener diode of which the anode is connected to said one end portion, and the cathode is connected to the wiring; a voltage detecting unit for detecting the voltage of the one end portion; and a control unit which controls the drive switch to turn from off to on, and which determines the presence or absence of a failure of the semiconductor switch by comparing the detected voltage with a threshold.
