Abstract:
A control method for an air conditioner, and an air conditioner. The control method is aimed at solving the problem of the usage experience of a user being affected due to existing air conditioners having a poor dust removal effect when cleaning a heat exchanger (11). An outdoor unit (1) of an air conditioner comprises a housing (10), a heat exchanger (11) and a fan (12). The control method comprises: when deep cleaning needs to be performed on a heat exchanger (11), enabling an air conditioner to execute a frosting mode; after a set condition is met, enabling the air conditioner to execute a defrosting mode; and during the process when the air conditioner executes the defrosting mode, enabling a fan (12) to blow air towards the heat exchanger (11), and periodically adjusting the air output volume of the fan (12). By means of such settings, when an air conditioner performs frosting, dust is tightly bonded to a frost layer, and during defrosting, air is blown towards a heat exchanger (12), and air alternates between high and low to blow off frost blocks on the heat exchanger (11), such that after the frost blocks are melted, residual dust on the heat exchanger (11) is reduced, thereby improving a cleaning effect of the heat exchanger (11), and improving the usage experience of a user.
