Provided in the present application are a control method and control apparatus for an energy storage system, and an energy storage system. The energy storage system is coupled to an energy generation system, and comprises a plurality of energy storage units. The control method for an energy storage system comprises: at a first stage, controlling an energy generation system to charge a first energy storage unit of a plurality of energy storage units, wherein the first stage is a charging stage of a charging cycle of the first energy storage unit; and at a second stage, controlling the first energy storage unit to discharge to a second energy storage unit of the plurality of energy storage units, wherein the second stage is a discharge stage of the charging cycle of the first energy storage unit. By means of the technical solution of the present application, the performance and service life of an energy storage system can be improved.
