Disclosed is a control method for a washing machine having a water treatment function. The washing machine is provided with a flocculation treatment function, when water that needs to be treated in a washing drum is discharged into a flocculation module for flocculation treatment, at least one instance of laundry guarding process is performed for laundry in the washing drum. Also disclosed is the washing machine comprising the control method for the washing machine. The washing machine is provided therein with the flocculation module capable of performing flocculation treatment on water and a laundry guarding module capable of performing guarding treatment on the laundry in the washing drum. The present invention provides the flocculation treatment function and a laundry guarding function at the same time, fully utilizes the time of the flocculation water treatment process, performs laundry guarding during the flocculation water treatment process, guards the laundry in a timely manner, and puts to work the washing drum that would be resting during the flocculation water treatment process, thus reasonably utilizing time and space.
