Abstract:
The present invention provides a compact control moment gyroscope capable of lengthening the lifespan of a gimbal bearing and suppressing the increase of disturbance to a spacecraft caused by the axial vibration of a rotor. This control moment gyroscope is provided with an inner gimbal, a rotor that is held by the inner gimbal so as to be capable of rotating around a spin axis, a spin motor that is provided in the inner gimbal and causes the rotor to rotate around the spin axis, a stator that holds the inner gimbal such that the same is capable of rotating around a gimbal axis that is orthogonal to the spin axis, a gimbal bearing that is disposed between the inner gimbal and stator so as to sandwich a plane that is orthogonal to the gimbal axis and includes the spin axis and so as to come into contact with the plane or include the plane, and a torque module that is provided to the stator and rotates the inner gimbal around the gimbal axis.
