Abstract:
A conveyance device according to the present invention is for conveying a carriage having, at the bottom thereof, a freely rotatable caster. This device comprises: a body connectable to the carriage; a drive unit that is capable of changing the direction of movement and moving the body; sensor units that are installed on the body and capable of detecting the orientation of the caster; and a setting unit that sets, on the basis of the orientation of the caster which has been detected by the sensor units, the direction of movement to a direction in which a drive load of the drive unit becomes low.
