A cooler (10) for a plurality of cylindrical batteries (12) comprises a plurality of parallel plates (14) that each comprise a plurality of plate openings (16) for receiving the batteries　(12) and are connected to one another in such a way that a plurality of plate openings (16) align with one another to form a plurality of cooler openings (18) and at least one cavity to be filled with coolant is created.
