Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to utilize external water as cooling water for an electric power generator and a main shaft, and to achieve a reduction in the size of the facility. A hydroelectric power generating system 1 includes a runner 3, an electric power generator 4, a main shaft 7 coupling the electric power generator 4 to the runner 3, and a bearing portion 11 for the main shaft 7. A cooling water supply system 20 includes a cooling water supply line 21a for supplying cooling water to the electric power generator 4 and the bearing portion 11, a return line 21b for returning cooling water discharged from the electric power generator 4 and the bearing portion 11 to the cooling water supply line 21a, and forming a circulating path 21 together with the cooling water supply line 21a, a cooling water cooling means 29 provided in the circulating path 21, and an external water collecting means 22 for collecting external water and introducing the collected external water into the circulating path 21 as part of the cooling water, wherein the cooling means 22 includes a heat pump 29a for cooling the cooling water flowing through the circulating path 21.
