Abstract:

A corrugated wall honeycomb structure (1) having a plurality of cell passages (2) in parallel to each other in a passage direction, wherein crossing portions (4) between partitions (3) that separate cell passages (2) are formed at regular positions at preset pitches on sections perpendicular to cell passages (2), and the wall surface portions (5), except for crossing portions (4), of partitions (3) are formed in a corrugated shape in two directions, a cell passage direction and a section direction perpendicular to the cell passage direction, thereby providing the effects of improving an exhaust emission control performance, a catalyst performance, a mechanical strength with respect to canning, and a thermal shock resistance.
