COSMETIC COMPOSITION FOR AN AUTONOMOUS SHAVE

Field of the invention

The area of industry in which this invention is classified is that of personal hygiene, and it relates to a cosmetic composition that can be used both as a cosmetic treatment for slowing down the growth of hair of androgenic character, whether male or female, as a depilatory, and even as a moisturizing cream, as well as a shaving kit containing said composition.

Prior art

There is now a great variety of products that are combined for achieving a correct shave, which the consumer has to purchase separately and whose use or application is effected part-time, that is to say, soap first, then shaving, after that rinsing, and finally a perfumed lotion. As a minimum, water is required for rinsing or for dissolving the soap and if, in addition, we wish to achieve other effects, such as an inhibitor of hair growth, it becomes necessary to combine several products.

The aim of the present invention is to offer the consumer an efficient, complete method of shaving. By means of a novel cosmetic composition, which combines, in a single product, the functions performed hitherto by three different products, each applied at different times, it provides preparation of the surface to be shaved, subsequent application of aftershave and a treatment that slows down the growth of hair of androgenic nature, all in a single composition not requiring any other component for its application, not even water.

To the best of the inventors' knowledge, no system like that proposed here currently exists, enabling us to achieve a good shave without the need for any additional element or component, as well as slowing down hair growth.

Summary of the invention

The problem to be solved in the present invention by a person skilled in the art is to provide a cosmetic composition that combines, in a single product, the functions that until now were performed by three different products that are applied at three different times, namely: the function of preparation of the surface to be shaved, the function of aftershave, and the function of slowing down the growth of hair of androgenic nature.

The solution is based on the fact that the present inventors have established that by combining a number of anti-androgens, oestrogens and antipruriginous agents, plus certain pharmaceutically acceptable excipients, in a single cosmetic composition, the desired effects are achieved.

Therefore a first aspect of the invention relates to a composition whose essential active principles are: a) anti-androgens in an amount equivalent to those supplied by between 2.00 and 4.00 mg of synthetic cyproterone acetate; b) oestrogens in an amount equivalent to those supplied by between 0.07 and 0.09 rng of synthetic ethinylestradiol; c) antipruriginous agents in an amount equivalent to those supplied by between 1.2 and 1.6 rag of synthetic hydrocortisone acetate, and d) at least one pharmaceutically acceptable excipient.

A second aspect of the invention relates to a shaving kit comprising a razor and the aforementioned cosmetic composition, which can preferably be supplied in opaque containers of one or more doses attached to the razor.

Said monodose or multidose containers can be incorporated inside the body of the razor or can be supplied separately.

One aim of the present invention is to solve the problem of shaving, including depilation with a razor blade, in situations in which water is a scarce and valuable resource, such as when travelling or camping, in military campaigns, and aerospace and submarine travel etc.

Another aim of this invention is to make available, in a single product for shaving, or depilation with a razor blade, that which is at present combined in several products.

An additional aim of this invention is to provide an efficient product for slowing down the growth of hair of androgenic origin.

Detailed description of the invention

The aim of the present invention is to permit a good shave to be achieved with just one product, i.e. without requiring the intervention of any other substance, not even water, comprising a treatment for the skin which facilitates shaving, reduces irritation and slows down hair growth.

The composition of the invention can preferably be combined with a razor, in order to make use of the habits of shaving and depilation known at present, and comprises a substance or cosmetic compound in the form of gel, cream, cream-gel or similar with the following treatment properties for the skin and hair:

• Preparation of the skin for shaving, performing the function of the soap or foam used at present;

• Treatment of the skin after shaving to reduce skin irritation, performing the function that is provided by aftershave lotions;

• Slowing down of subsequent hair growth.

The cosmetic composition of the invention comprises a cream-gel of shea butter as one of its components. The active principles of the cream-gel have been prepared as a concentrate specially designed for permitting modulated, dynamic blending of various active substances which slow down the growth of androgenic-masculine hair and revitalize the skin. Various natural finished component products exert their action by "starving" the follicles of the androgenic hair, by selective blocking.

In contrast to other products with a deep abrasive action, destroying cells of skin and hair, and making the surface greasy, the active principles of the present product focus their action exclusively on the androgenic follicles supporting the hair and on the elastic support of the most superficial cells of the skin, with an anti-irritant action that avoids the redness and chafing of conventional shaving and aggressive agents in the environment, nourishing the skin and endowing it with elasticity and a good appearance.

Its essential ingredients are:

• Aloe vera juice.

• Natural antipruriginous phytopeptides.

• Allantoin, • Polysaccharides and peptides of vegetable origin containing a range of phytoantiandrogenic and phyto- oestrogenic amino acids, which facilitate sustained hydration balanced with natural peptides with reinforcing action.

The cosmetic composition of the invention combines in a single product the functions that were until now achieved with three different products: preparation of the surface to be shaved, subsequent aftershave treatment and a treatment that slows down the growth of hair of androgenic nature, so as to make it possible to achieve a good shave with just one product without requiring the intervention of any other external element or substance, not even water.

The cosmetic composition of the invention can be used for deputation, for male or female use. It can also be used as a moisturizing cream and as a treatment that slows down the growth of hair of androgenic nature.

Although the cosmetic composition of the invention has been described in the above examples with reference to components obtained from natural sources, it is also contemplated within the present invention that said components could be obtained artificially, by chemical synthesis. Accordingly, the anti-androgenic component can be supplied by synthetic cyproterone acetate; the oestrogenic component, by synthetic ethinylestradiol; and the antipruriginous component, by synthetic hydrocortisone acetate.

The cosmetic composition of the invention can be supplied in the form of a shaving kit comprising a razor and the cosmetic composition of the invention. Preferably, in said kit the composition of the invention would preferably be supplied in containers of one or more doses attached to the razor, either within the body of the latter or separately.

Alternatively, the cosmetic composition of the invention can be supplied in the form of cosmetic wipes impregnated with the cosmetic composition of the invention.
