Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a method and device having a simple configuration and being capable of producing crankshafts easily and with precision. [Solution] The present method is for producing a crankshaft (100) comprising a journal part (J), which serves as the central axis for rotation, a pin part (P), which is eccentric relative to the journal part, and a web part (W), which extends between the journal part (J) and the pin part (P). The method comprises: a preliminary shaping step for forming a blank (10) by bending a stock material (1) so as to form parts (p, w) that will become the pin part and the web part; and a final shaping step in which pressure is applied to the blank (10) in the axial direction so that the part (w) that becomes the web part comes to have a prescribed thickness, and the web section (W) is shaped so as to have a prescribed pitch. In the preliminary shaping step, a slender section (T) is formed in the part (w) of the blank (10) which later becomes the web part.
