Title:
CRIMPING DIE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ELECTRIC WIRE WITH TERMINAL
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/014955
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a technique for a terminal fitting having a cylindrical crimping section, the technique being capable of, while minimizing the occurrence of fissures and cracks in the terminal fitting, forming the terminal fitting into a crimped and affixed state in which electrical performance is ensured. To achieve the purpose, a crimping die is provided with: a first die for restraining an electric wire crimping section by a recessed die surface having a shape corresponding to the electric wire crimping section; and a second die provided with a protruding die surface paired with the recessed die surface. In the above configuration, the width of the recess of the recessed die surface and the width of the protrusion of the protruding die surface are the same as the outer diameter of the electric wire crimping section. The electric wire crimping section is pressed and formed by both the recessed die surface of the first die and the protruding die surface of the second die to crimp and affix together the electric wire crimping section and an electric wire which is inserted in the tube of the electric wire crimping section.
