Abstract:

A cross conveyor chain device comprises a first conveyor chain and a second conveyor chain crossing the first conveyor chain and is arranged to transfer a load from the first conveyor chain to the second conveyor chain, changing the load transfer direction substantially at right angles. The first conveyor chain (S1) is supported by an end bar (10) or s small−diameter sprocket, and a second conveyor chain (S2) is composed of at least two types of chain units (A) of different lengths and a connecting pin (B). The chain unit (A) has a front end projection (1) and a front end recess (3) in the front and a rear end projection (2) and a rear end recess (4) in the rear, which are alternately disposed, and a transfer overhang piece (7) is integrally connected to one side, and is formed with an inclined lower surface (8) at the front end lower surface, and an inclined upper surface (9) at the front end upper surface. According to such arrangement, since the length of the transfer overhang projection (7) can be set at a small value, it can be formed hardly bendable or hardly damageable, capable of smoothly and stably conveying loads, hardly causing the loads to locally concentrate or to vertically flex. Therefore, it is possible to provide an arrangement that is high in strength, rigidity and durability, light in weight and small in size, compact, suitable for mass production, easy to assemble and to handle, and at low cost.
