Abstract:
Provided is a crosslinking agent for water-compatible resins which is capable of giving liquids containing said crosslinking agent and having excellent storage stability and cured films (water-compatible-resin coating films) having a sufficiently high gloss (mirror surface glossiness). The crosslinking agent for water-compatible resins comprises polycarbodiimide compound (A) and polycarbodiimide compound (B), wherein the polycarbodiimide compound (A) has a structure in which isocyanate groups at both ends have been respectively blocked with hydrophilic organic compounds, at least one of the hydrophilic organic compounds having a molecular weight exceeding 350, and the polycarbodiimide compound (B) has a structure in which isocyanate groups at both ends have been respectively blocked with compounds represented by formula (1) having a molecular weight of 250 or lower, the amount of the polycarbodiimide compound (A) being 5-95 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the sum of the polycarbodiimide compound (A) and the polycarbodiimide compound (B). Formula (1): R1(OCHR2CH2)mOH (In formula (1), R1 is an alkyl group having 1-13 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl group, or an aryl group, R2 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl, ethyl, or propyl group, and m is a number of 1-4.)
