Abstract:
Provided is a more stable crystal polymorphism of an inclusion compound composed of 1,1,2,2-tetrakis(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethane and 2-phenyl-4-methyl-5-hydroxymethylimidazole (molar ratio 1:2). A novel crystal polymorphism of an inclusion compound, which is composed of 1,1,2,2-tetrakis(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethane and 2-phenyl-4-methyl-5-hydroxymethylimidazole (molar ratio 1:2) and has diffraction peaks at diffraction angles (2θ) of 11.20º, 13.36º, 14.36º, 18.16º, 19.20º, 19.68º, 20.84º, 21.48º, 22.56º, 23.76º and 24.08º in a powder X-ray diffraction pattern as measured using an CuKα ray, can be produced by, for example, producing a crystal of the inclusion compound by a conventionally known method and then further recrystallizing the crystal.
