Abstract:
Provided are a culture medium additive, a culture medium composition, a culture method, etc. each being capable of enabling efficient culture of cells or tissue in a well dispersed state and, moreover, enabling image analysis of the cells or tissue.
The culture medium additive or culture medium composition according to the present invention contains an agar. As the agar, a low-molecular weight agar having a weight-average molecular weight of 10,000-60,000 is preferably used.
By using the culture medium additive or culture medium composition, cells or tissue can be cultured in a state of being well dispersed in a culture medium and a growth promotion effect can be exerted on the cells or tissue. By controlling the concentration of the agar, furthermore, the culture can be performed either in a suspended state or in a precipitated state.
