Abstract:

Provided is a currency processing device (for example, a paper currency processing device 1), comprising: a conveyance destination selection means 52 which selects, from among a plurality of storage units (such as paper currency storage units 18, 19, storage/discharge units 20, a collection unit 30, or a paper currency issuing unit 16), a conveyance destination of counterfeit currency and/or currency of indeterminate validity from among currency which is being conveyed by a conveyance unit 12; and a control unit 50 which controls the conveyance unit 12 to convey the counterfeit currency and/or the currency of indeterminate validity to the storage unit which has been selected from among the plurality of storage units by the conveyance destination selection means 52.
