A curvature retaining device (1) comprises: two support points (25a) capable of coming into contact with one surface of a plate-shaped workpiece (W); at least one pressing point (40a) capable of coming into contact with the other surface of the plate-shaped workpiece (W) at a position sandwiched between the support points (25a); and a forward/backward drive means (a support unit (23) and a pressing unit (33)) for moving either the pressing point (40a) and/or the support points (25a) forward and backward relative to the other. Preferably, the two support points (25a) make contact with the one surface of the plate-shaped workpiece (W) while being separated from each other by a first distance (Ls), two pressing points (40a) make contact with the other surface of the plate-shaped workpiece (W) while being separated from each other by a second distance (Lp) less than the first distance (Ls), and the middle point of the first distance (Ls) and the middle point of the second distance (Lp) match with each other.
