Abstract:
A cutting tool according to one embodiment comprises: a holder that is rod-shaped extending from a first end to a second end and that has a pocket; and a cutting insert located in the pocket. The holder further comprises: an upper surface; a lower surface located on the opposite side from the upper surface; a first end surface located between the upper surface and the lower surface and on the first-end side; a first side surface located between the upper surface and the lower surface and extending from the first end to the second end; a recessed section that opens to the first end surface and the first side surface; a first channel located along the central axis of an upper holder and having an inlet port; and a second channel located closer to the upper surface than the recessed section, connected to the first channel, and having an outlet port. A virtual plane that passes through the central axis and is orthogonal to the lower surface is a reference surface. The pocket opens at the recessed section and is indented from the recessed section toward the reference surface.
