Abstract:
This cutting tool for a surface coating includes a base material and a coating film formed on the base material, and is characterized as follows: the coating film contains at least an abrasion-resistant layer and a fusion-resistant layer, the abrasion-resistant layer has a multi-layered structure in which a layer A, having a nitride that contains Ti and Al, and a layer B, having a nitride that contains Al and Cr, are alternately laminated; the abrasion-resistant layer has a cubic crystal structure; and the fusion-resistant layer is disposed on the outermost surface of the coating film, is constituted from a nitride represented by the formula (AlaCrbTi1-a-b)N (in the formula, a+b < 0.99, b > 0.01, 0.2b+0.7 < a), and has a wurtzite type crystal structure.
