Abstract:

A novel cyanine dyestuff which has a specific structure and exhibits the primary local maximum of absorption in the region of a wavelength longer than 400 nm in the state of a solution. The dyestuff absorbs a visible light having a short wavelength, is excellent in the resistance to light and the solubility in a solvent, and also exhibits thermal characteristics required in new technical fields where organic dyestuff compounds are applied, which results in broadening the width of organic dyestuff compounds capable of being selected as a light absorbing material in the above fields and the like.
