Abstract:

A cylinder for locks, adapted to be mounted to a lock body, has an outer cylinder which serves as a housing. A first inner cylinder, into which an electronic key is inserted, and a second inner cylinder adapted to be connected to a locking and unlocking mechanism of the lock body are rotatably provided in the outer cylinder. A connecting pin is retractably held by the first inner cylinder, and serves to connect the first inner cylinder and the second inner cylinder to each other when it advances. In the case where a proper key is inserted, a connecting pin controlling mechanism advances the connecting pin to mechanically keep the advancing state of the connecting pin, and in the case where the key is pulled out, the connecting pin is retracted by the connecting pin controlling mechanism. The connecting pin controlling mechanism has a cam plate which abuts against a projection of the connecting pin. When the cam plate inclines, the connecting pin is retracted, and when a cam member is made upright, the connecting pin is advanced.
